About Nadav
Nadav Brenner (b. 2000) is a Boston-based guitarist, composer, and singer-songwriter. With an extensive jazz education and some Israeli chutzpah, Nadav doesn’t shy away from any music that catches his ears. He is currently engaged in indie folk, Klezmer, contemporary classical music, modern jazz, and improvised music.
After receiving “Outstanding Musician” status in the IDF and performing at top jazz venues in Tel Aviv (Beit Ha’amudim, Shablul), Nadav received a scholarship to study Jazz Composition at NEC, working with Frank Carlberg and Jason Moran. He has been fortunate to play with Dave Holland, Tim Berne, and others, and to perform his music throughout Boston and New York, leading ensembles ranging from duos and trios to big band. As a side-person, Nadav performs regularly with the KDF Big Band, the Itay Dayan Quartet, and the Jeff Sagurton Quintet, as well as various ad-hoc groups at Wally’s and NEC recitals.Nadav graduated from Reut High School for the Arts with honors, double majoring in jazz performance and contemporary composition. At the same time, his trio performed extensively in Haifa. He continued his studies at the Tel Aviv Conservatory, taking lessons with Anat Fort. After leaving the conservatory due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nadav continued studying with Anat and stayed active in the Tel Aviv scene until moving to Boston.
