SIVAN Women’s Rosh Chodesh Circle – The Month of Revelation
Join us for a Women’s Rosh Chodesh Circle this SIVAN in downtown Boston at The Boston Synagogue — a warm, welcoming space to connect, reflect, and explore the themes of the new moon & month through increasing joy, renewal, and shared intention.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The evening before erev Shavuot. The night before the Torah is given.
I imagine standing at the foot of Sinai. The whole people gathered. The answer rising in every chest before the question was even finished: yes. We want the Torah. We will be a light to the nations. We will carry the Divine into the mundane world and make it holy — in every generation, including this one. This is the energy of Sivan. And it is waiting for us.
Join us the evening before erev Shavuot as we gather in the spirit of that original yes — to learn, to move, to receive, and to carry the light of the month of SIVAN into the days ahead.
We’ll connect as Jewish women while honoring this special time of lunar renewal.
Enjoy light refreshments as we sing soulful songs and chant together, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere. Join us for this Rosh Chodesh Circle and step into the joy, unity, and renewal that define the new moon and month.
Open to all Jewish women — come as you are 💚
–Rosh Chodesh Circle is a recognized as a Lay Leader led group by Hadar.
This gathering we will:
- Discover the unique energy of Sivan and the pitfalls to navigate with awareness.
- Explore the meaning of the Hebrew letters that anchor the month
and how to work with their energy
- Learn the significance of the Tribe of Zebulun and what it carries for us today
- Study the Kabbalistic teachings of the month through a women’s lens
- Sit with Ruth & Naomi — the women whose story of loyalty, return, and chosen belonging is read every Shavuot, and who have never felt more alive than right now
Close with an embodied movement practice — a gentle, accessible Jewish yoga experience to carry the teachings into the body, open to all regardless of physical ability
The evening includes candle lighting, intention-setting, and a guided kavvanah to carry into Sivan and Shavuot. All Jewish women are welcome no matter where you are on your journey— come as you are. No prior knowledge or experience required.

About Rosh Chodesh Circle at The Boston Synagogue
Did you know that Rosh Chodesh was given to women as their own special holiday?
Rosh Chodesh signifies the renewal of the moon and the start of a new month. According to tradition, it was a reward to women for their devotion and wisdom during the Exodus and their refusal to participate in the creation of the Golden Calf. Instead, they eagerly contributed their gold and jewelry to help build the Mishkan (Tabernacle)!
Join us to celebrate the new month with meaningful discussions that explore Jewish wisdom, traditions, rituals, and blessings to honor Rosh Chodesh. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect and foster a supportive community— along with snacks and wine!
What to Expect:
- Thoughtful discussions on Jewish wisdom and traditions
- Rituals and blessings to honor the new month
- Opportunities to connect and build a supportive community
- Snacks and wine
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
