The World According to Tom

Thomas Friedman doesn’t claim to predict the future. But after nearly 50 years reporting from the front lines of war, diplomacy and political upheaval, he’s earned a reputation for seeing the forces shaping Israel, the Middle East and the world before the rest of us do.

A three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, Friedman is known for his sharp analysis, deep sourcing and willingness to challenge conventional wisdom, regardless of ideology or party. Clear-eyed and candid, he has spent decades examining Israel’s security, democracy and identity, as well as the evolving relationship between Israel and Jews around the world at a consequential moment in modern Jewish history.

Friedman joins us for a conversation on what the wars in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon mean for Israel’s future, the country’s turbulent domestic politics and its changing place in the region and the world — and what all of it means for the Jewish future.

The longtime New York Times foreign affairs columnist and author of seven bestselling books, Thomas Friedman won his first Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the Lebanese civil war, his second for coverage of Israel and the Middle East and his third for commentary on terrorism and the post-9/11 clash between the Western and Muslim worlds.
