Join UJA Young Leaders for a powerful evening with former hostage Maya Regev, and hear her extraordinary story of survival.
When Hamas terrorists attacked the Nova music festival on October 7, Maya and her brother, Itay, were among the young people taken hostage to Gaza.
Now, Maya shares her harrowing experience in captivity and how she’s rebuilding her life. She’ll also reflect on the outpouring of support and solidarity from Jewish communities around the world, including the UJA community, which continues to stand with Israel and help those still healing from the trauma of October 7.
UJA Young Leaders programs are geared toward those in their 20s and 30s who want to make an impact.

Featuring Maya Regev
Maya Regev is a survivor of the October 7 Nova music festival massacre and a former hostage held in Gaza. Shot in both legs, denied proper medical care, and subjected to physical and religious abuse, Maya endured unimaginable suffering in captivity. Alone and gravely wounded, she made a deliberate choice — to live. Through faith, resilience, and unwavering identity, Maya survived. Today, she shares her testimony as an act of truth, moral courage, and remembrance.
