YWIN Philly: Know Your Roots, Know Your Risk: BRCA, Basics & Giving

This October, we’re bringing together two important causes—Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month—for an evening of good food, honest conversation, and giving back.

In partnership with Sharsheret, join us for a discussion and Q&A with genetic counselor Jamie Mushlin about breast and ovarian cancer risk through a Jewish lens.

We’ll also be collecting personal care and household essentials for a local DV shelter. Consider bringing an item or two, including laundry detergent, dish soap, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, razors, and more.

Come connect, learn, and give back with YWIN Philly!

This event reflects JWI’s pillar of Jewish Values—rooted in community, connection, and shared traditions that bring women together in meaningful, intimate ways.

FAQs:

What’s JWI? Jewish Women International (JWI) is the leading Jewish organization working to empower women and girls – of every race, culture, ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation – by ensuring and protecting their safety, building access to long-term economic security, and lifting and mentoring women leaders.

What’s the Young Women’s Impact Network? The network connects and supports local Jewish women in their 20s and 30s with empowering programs and leadership development.

What kind of programming does JWI put on? Our programs connect young Jewish women together and provide them with opportunities to grow together, thrive independently, and create a lasting impact on the world around them. Many of our programs focus on financial empowerment, healthy relationships, personal and professional development, and more!
