The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Development Associate to support the Financial Resource Development (FRD) Department.

This role provides critical administrative, operational, and project coordination support across the Federation’s fundraising and philanthropic initiatives, including Annual Campaign, Foundation, donor engagement, volunteer leadership, and special events. The Development Associate serves as a key partner to FRD professionals, helping drive efficiency, donor engagement, and operational excellence across the department.

Role and Impact

As our Development Associate, you will play an important role in supporting the Federation’s fundraising and philanthropic goals through administrative coordination, donor support, event logistics, data management, and project execution.

Working closely with Campaign and Foundation professionals, volunteer leaders, donors, and community stakeholders, you will help ensure the successful delivery of fundraising initiatives, stewardship activities, and engagement opportunities. This position offers exposure to fundraising strategy, donor engagement, philanthropic planning, volunteer leadership, and nonprofit operations, making it an excellent opportunity for a high-performing professional seeking to grow within the field of development.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support & Team Coordination

  • Provide administrative support to members of the FRD Department, including calendar management, scheduling, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and distribute reports, presentations, donor communications, and meeting materials.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and ensure all necessary logistics and materials are prepared.
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, expense reports, and other administrative documentation.
  • Support department-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned.

FRD & Donor Engagement Support

  • Support Annual Campaign, Foundation, and other fundraising initiatives across the department.
  • Coordinate donor meetings and assist in preparing briefing materials, presentations, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist with donor stewardship, acknowledgment processes, and recognition efforts.
  • Support Foundation stewardship activities and legacy giving initiatives.
  • Assist with donor research, prospect tracking, and relationship management activities.
  • Support volunteer leadership committees through scheduling, meeting preparation, and administrative coordination.
  • Help track fundraising activities, donor engagement efforts, and campaign progress.

Events & Community Engagement

  • Coordinate logistics for donor events, leadership gatherings, Foundation programs, parlor meetings, and community events.
  • Manage invitations, registrations, RSVPs, room reservations, catering, and event materials.
  • Support event execution and post-event follow-up activities.
  • Represent the Federation in a professional and welcoming manner when interacting with donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

Data Management & Technology

  • Maintain accurate donor and constituent records within CRM and database systems.
  • Generate reports, mailing lists, dashboards, and fundraising tracking documents.
  • Enter and update donor information, engagement activity, and meeting notes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to department policies and procedures.
  • Leverage technology, data, and reporting tools to enhance department effectiveness, donor engagement, and fundraising outcomes.

Thrive Here If You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in administrative operations, development support, fundraising, project coordination, customer service, or a related professional environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, with the ability to create professional reports, presentations, and tracking tools.
  • Experience working with CRM and donor database platforms such as Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new systems and leverage technology to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data, analyze information, and maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and execute independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, lay leaders, and colleagues.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and committed to supporting a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal organizations, philanthropy, and fundraising practices is a plus.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
