American Jewish Committee (AJC)

American Jewish Committee (AJC), founded in 1906, is the oldest Jewish advocacy organization in the United States, established to defend Jewish civil and religious rights in the wake of anti-Jewish pogroms in Russia. Today AJC operates as a global advocacy powerhouse, engaging leaders in more than 110 countries through 40 offices and a network of regional offices across the U.S. and abroad.

AJC works to enhance the wellbeing of the Jewish people and Israel, and to advance human rights and democratic values, by building trusted partnerships with diplomats, elected officials, and religious and civic leaders around the world. Its work spans combating antisemitism, strengthening U.S.-Israel relations, promoting interfaith and interethnic understanding, and defending democratic values on the global stage.

Headquartered in New York City, AJC maintains a broad network of regional U.S. offices as well as international outposts, allowing it to respond rapidly to threats facing Jewish communities and to advocate directly with governments and institutions across six continents.
