About Harold Grinspoon Foundation
The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) is a private foundation established in 1993 and headquartered in Agawam, Massachusetts. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the foundation works to enhance Jewish and community life in Western Massachusetts, North America, Israel, and beyond, helping people connect to Jewish values, faith, traditions, and culture.
HGF is best known for flagship initiatives such as PJ Library, which mails free, high-quality Jewish children’s books and music to families across North America on a monthly basis, and Life & Legacy, an endowment-building program that has helped secure more than $2 billion in commitments for Jewish communities. The foundation also operates the Jewish Arts & Culture Initiative and supports a wide range of grantmaking efforts.
In addition to its national and international programs, HGF invests deeply in its hometown region of Western Massachusetts, supporting local Jewish community programming as well as broader community initiatives in education, agriculture, and the arts through the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation. The foundation was founded by Harold Grinspoon, founder and principal partner of Aspen Square Management, a real estate company based in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
