Hebrew Public

Hebrew Public is a national nonprofit organization that supports and grows a network of exceptional, diverse public charter schools teaching Modern Hebrew to children of all backgrounds. Its schools, including the founding Hebrew Language Academy Charter School in Brooklyn along with campuses in Harlem, Staten Island, and Philadelphia, are designed as models of racial and economic integration, academic excellence, and foreign language learning.

While centered on Hebrew language instruction, Hebrew Public schools are secular public schools that do not provide religious instruction; students learn about Israeli culture and history from native Hebrew-speaking teachers, culminating in an 8th-grade Capstone trip to Israel. The organization frames its mission around ‘global citizenship,’ teaching students to communicate across cultures and take on leadership roles in their communities.

Headquartered in New York City, Hebrew Public provides curriculum, operational support, teacher training, and other resources to its affiliated schools nationwide, helping them deliver high-quality, dual-language educational programs to a broad and diverse student population.
