About JASA
JASA (Jewish Association Serving the Aging) is one of New York’s largest and most trusted nonprofit organizations dedicated to older adults. Founded over 50 years ago, JASA serves more than 40,000 older New Yorkers and their families each year across the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island, operating over 50 locations and more than 20 essential services.
JASA’s mission is to sustain and enrich the lives of aging adults in the New York metropolitan area so they can remain in their communities with dignity and autonomy. Services include affordable housing, case management and counseling, home care, home-delivered meals, elder abuse prevention, legal assistance, mental health services, benefits and entitlements assistance, caregiver support, and Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) programs, among others.
As a Jewish communal institution, JASA also offers Jewish programming and cultural/educational activities for older adults, while serving people of all backgrounds. The organization partners with hospitals, government agencies, and other nonprofits to advocate for and innovate in aging services citywide.
