About JCRC Bay Area
The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Bay Area is the largest collective voice of the Jewish community across San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The organization convenes, educates, and acts on behalf of the Bay Area Jewish community, working in pursuit of a more just world where Jewish identity is embraced and all people thrive.
As a convener of leaders and communities, JCRC Bay Area fosters partnerships, provides meaningful educational and engagement opportunities, and builds bridges with diverse ethnic, faith, and political communities. Its mission is to educate and advocate on issues of vital importance to the organized Jewish community based on consensus, civility, and an expanded commitment to living Jewish values of social justice.
JCRC’s work includes the HERE I AM initiative — a practical effort to identify and address rising antisemitism through community research, education, and training. The organization also operates the Bay Area Network of Jewish Officials (BANJO), a partnership convening Jewish elected and appointed officials across the region, and partners on the Jewish Community Mental Health Initiative (JCMHI) to reduce stigma and promote mental wellness in the Jewish community.
Through advocacy, coalition-building, Israel education, and leadership development, JCRC Bay Area engages Jews in creative and impactful bridge-building initiatives that foster strong multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-faith relationships throughout the region.
