For nearly 150 years, The Jewish Board (Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services) has been empowering New Yorkers through innovative, high-quality mental health, housing, and social services. Guided by hope, recovery, and resilience, the organization addresses all aspects of a person’s life, including mental and physical health, family, housing, employment, and education.
The Jewish Board serves more than 45,000 people annually across all five boroughs of New York City, making it one of the largest human services agencies in New York State. Its programs span outpatient counseling, children’s mental health, family support, supportive housing, domestic violence services, adult recovery supports, Jewish community services, and intellectual and developmental disability services.
Rooted in Jewish values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), The Jewish Board serves people of all faiths and backgrounds. The organization traces its roots to 19th-century precursor organizations such as the Jewish Prisoner’s Aid Society and United Hebrew Charities, and has grown over generations into a comprehensive health and human services agency committed to meeting the evolving needs of New Yorkers.
