Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Boston (JF&CS) is one of the largest and oldest Jewish human services agencies in the United States, tracing its origins to the United Hebrew Benevolent Association founded in 1864. A major constituent agency of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, JF&CS has spent more than 150 years building a foundation of resilience and well-being for people throughout eastern and central Massachusetts.
JF&CS operates an integrated portfolio of more than 40 programs serving individuals and families across the lifespan, regardless of religious affiliation. Core service areas include support for older adults (eldercare information & referral, Memory Café programming for those with Alzheimer’s/dementia), mental health and emotional well-being services, domestic violence intervention through its Journey to Safety program, disability employment services through CHAI, and basic needs assistance including SNAP crisis response and financial assistance.
Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, with additional locations such as Canton, JF&CS serves families as far north as Newburyport and as far south as Bridgewater. The organization’s mission centers on providing human services guided by Jewish traditions of social responsibility, compassion, and respect for all members of the community.
