Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS) is a client-centered, impact-driven nonprofit working to build a stronger, healthier, more resilient San Diego. Founded in 1918, it is considered one of San Diego’s most impactful nonprofit human services agencies, providing compassionate care and supportive services to more than 70,000 people every year across San Diego County and the Coachella Valley.
JFS offers a wide range of integrated services designed to empower individuals and families to move toward self-sufficiency, support aging with dignity, and foster community connection and engagement. Programs span food assistance, counseling and case management, parenting education, transportation, housing and the Safe Parking Program for unsheltered families living in their cars, immigration and refugee services, domestic violence support, older adult care management, and children’s programs.
Operating from the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus and multiple satellite locations, JFS partners closely with San Diego’s broader Jewish community and secular social service networks alike, serving people regardless of race, religion, or gender. The agency also administers dedicated Jewish community programs, including services for Holocaust/Nazi victims and the Center for Jewish Care.
