Jewish Federation of Greater Houston

The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston (JFGH) envisions a vibrant and inclusive community where every Jewish Houstonian feels connected and supported, serving as the central gateway for the local Jewish community. It convenes and funds partner organizations throughout Houston, Israel, and around the world, and facilitates community-wide programs and initiatives spanning early childhood, congregational, and day school education.

Founded in 1936 out of an effort to unify local Jewish fundraising, the Federation’s mission is to preserve and enrich Jewish communal life through innovative, visionary leadership that responds to the needs of Jewish communities locally, nationally, in Israel, and around the world. Through the Houston Jewish Community Foundation and annual campaigns, it provides grants that support local organizations, strengthen the people of Israel and the global Jewish community, and deliver emergency assistance during local, national, and international crises.

Beyond fundraising, the Federation offers community programming, public affairs and government relations work, security coordination for local Jewish institutions, and a community calendar and directory connecting residents to Jewish organizations, events, and resources across Greater Houston.
