Los Angeles Jewish Health

Founded on Passover 1912 when a small group of neighbors gave shelter to five homeless Jewish men, Los Angeles Jewish Health (formerly the Los Angeles Jewish Home) has grown over more than a century into the largest nonprofit, single-source provider of senior healthcare in the Greater Los Angeles area. As the largest single-source senior housing provider in Los Angeles, the organization’s San Fernando Valley campuses in Reseda are home to more than 1,000 women and men, and it serves more than 4,000 seniors annually through its comprehensive healthcare programs.

Los Angeles Jewish Health offers a full continuum of care including independent and assisted living, skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitative care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, adult day care, and residential living. Community-based programs include the Brandman Centers for Senior Care (a PACE program), Jewish Home Health Services, Skirball Hospice, the Jewish Home Center for Palliative Medicine, the Ida Kayne Transitional Care Unit, the Auerbach Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and community clinics.

While rooted in Jewish values and history, the organization serves seniors of all backgrounds, providing a holistic approach to healthy aging that addresses mind, body, and spirit. It has continued to expand, including breaking ground on a new campus in Playa Vista, reflecting its evolution to meet the changing needs of older adults throughout the Los Angeles community.
