Melton Travel

The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning is the largest pluralistic adult Jewish education network in the world, with dozens of Melton communities operating through partner synagogues, JCCs, Federations, and other organizations across the United States, Canada, Australia, and South Africa, as well as online. More than 50,000 learners have experienced Melton’s professionally developed, text-based curriculum and interactive classroom experience since the school’s founding.

Melton was envisioned and endowed by inventor and activist Florence Zacks Melton in 1986 as a project of the Melton Centre at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She sought to create an accessible, non-denominational, and intellectually rigorous program of Jewish learning for adults of all backgrounds and levels of prior knowledge, and that vision continues to guide the organization’s values of accessibility, open-mindedness, integrity, community, and innovation.

Today Melton offers in-person and online courses, a self-paced learning platform (Melton+), and educational travel seminars to destinations of Jewish historical and cultural significance. Melton’s main offices are located in Jerusalem and New York City, and the organization partners with local synagogues, JCCs, and Federations to deliver its curriculum to communities around the world.
