Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School

Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation’s Capital (MILTON), formerly known as JPDS-NC, is an independent, pluralistic, coeducational Jewish day school in Washington, DC serving students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The school offers a dual curriculum combining general studies with Hebrew and Judaic studies, and its Moses Family Middle School serves grades 6-8.

Founded by a small group of parents at Adas Israel Congregation who wanted a pluralistic Jewish education for their children, MILTON has grown to become the only Jewish day school in the nation’s capital. Students and families come from across the spectrum of Jewish practice, and the school emphasizes mutual respect, community, and academic excellence alongside Jewish values.

MILTON operates from the Kay and Robert Schattner Center, with a North Campus and South Campus in Washington, DC. The school draws on the expertise of the local DC community—including public servants, scientists, business leaders, academics, and artists—to enrich the academic experience of its students, emphasizing critical thinking, active learning, and design thinking across STEM, humanities, Hebrew, and Judaic Studies curricula.
