About Mittleman Jewish Community Center
The Mittleman Jewish Community Center (MJCC), also known as “the J,” has been a vital part of the greater Portland Jewish community for over 100 years, tracing its roots back to the B’nai B’rith Building Association founded in 1910. Located on the Schnitzer Family Campus at 6651 SW Capitol Highway in Portland, Oregon, the MJCC is a full-service community center offering youth and family programs, culture, arts and education, and wellness and recreation.
The MJCC is an inclusive and welcoming hub for a diverse community, fostering lifelong wellness and providing dynamic social and educational experiences grounded in Jewish values and culture. While rooted in Jewish tradition, the center warmly embraces people of all faiths and backgrounds within its membership, serving thousands of visitors annually through its fitness center, aquatics programs, youth and family activities, summer day camps, and arts and cultural events.
The MJCC is a proud beneficiary of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland, partnering with the federation to strengthen both the local Jewish community and the greater Portland community. The center provides a gathering place for Jewish life in Portland while offering flexible event and meeting spaces for the broader community.
