About Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey
Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) of Southern New Jersey is a nonprofit social service agency and an agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. It has served the community for more than 75 years. It provides quality, affordable, and accessible services to thousands of vulnerable people in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties. It serves people of every age, faith, and background, and no one is turned away because they can’t pay.
Its core services include counseling and support groups, disability services, and family assistance with a food pantry (the Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry). Other programs include supported employment for young adults with diverse abilities and senior services. The agency is guided by caring for individuals with dignity and respect and helping people to help themselves.
JFCS is headquartered at 1301 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, NJ. It also runs a Family Assistance Center and a Disability Services department in Cherry Hill. Its community engagement includes volunteer opportunities and the annual Stepping Out fundraiser.
