Shalom Austin

Shalom Austin is the central hub of Jewish life in Austin and Central Texas, enhancing the quality of Jewish life through philanthropy, education, social service, culture, spirituality, and total wellness. The organization serves as an umbrella for four main branches that work together to comprehensively address the needs of Austin’s Jewish community.

The four pillars of Shalom Austin are the Jewish Federation, the Dell Jewish Community Center (JCC), Jewish Family Service (JFS), and the Jewish Foundation. The Dell JCC offers programs spanning early childhood education, day camps, aquatics, fitness, arts and ideas, Jewish living, and senior and adult programming. Jewish Family Service provides mental health and social services including counseling and psychotherapy, support groups, and case management to the Jewish community and the wider Austin community.

Founded out of a community organization that has existed since the 1970s, Shalom Austin empowers the people and organizations that make a difference in Austin’s Jewish community by providing leadership, financial support, services, facilities, and connections with Jewish organizations throughout Austin, Israel, and around the world. The organization also publishes The Jewish Outlook, Austin’s only Jewish publication, offering local, national, and international Jewish news.
