The Jewish Agency for Israel, founded in 1929, is the largest Jewish nonprofit organization in the world, historically responsible for founding and building the State of Israel and for facilitating Aliyah (immigration) of Jews from around the globe. Headquartered in Jerusalem, the organization works across dozens of countries connecting Jewish communities to Israel and to one another.
Today the Jewish Agency’s mission centers on promoting Aliyah, deepening Jewish identity and connection to Israel among Diaspora Jews, and strengthening Israeli society, including support for vulnerable populations such as new immigrants, youth-at-risk, and victims of terror. It sends Israeli emissaries (Shlichim) to Jewish communities worldwide to build personal connections with Israel and offers educational, cultural, and social programming for Jews of all ages.
The Jewish Agency also operates a Global Service Center to guide prospective immigrants through the Aliyah process, providing multilingual support via phone, email, and web application. Through its network of programs, partnerships, and emissaries, the organization continues to serve as a central pillar connecting the global Jewish family to the Jewish homeland.
