The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater (UJFT) works to strengthen and perpetuate Jewish life in the Tidewater / Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Each year, nearly 1,200 donors support its Community Campaign. The funds go to Jewish agencies and programs locally, in Israel and around the world.
UJFT runs community-wide initiatives. These include the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the Konikoff Center for Learning, young adult and professional networking programs (such as the Society of Professionals), teen programming and emergency campaigns. It also supports Jewish education, social services, senior care and Israel connections through its partner agencies.
UJFT shares the Reba and Sam Sandler Family Campus in Virginia Beach with the Tidewater Jewish Foundation. It merged with the Simon Family Jewish Community Center, which keeps its own branding. The JCC runs a fitness center, pools, group classes, camps and family programs for the whole community.
