Yeshiva University is America’s flagship Jewish university, a leading institution for higher education and Jewish learning offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in New York City. Its mission is to educate, empower, and inspire students to become the next generation of leaders, guided by its core Torah values through a transformative, world-class, and interdisciplinary education.

Founded in 1886 as the Etz Chaim Yeshiva on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, YU has grown into an independent institution chartered by New York State and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. In 1928, Yeshiva College was established as the first liberal arts college under Jewish auspices in America.

The university comprises multiple schools including Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women, the Sy Syms School of Business, the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. All undergraduates study Jewish culture and civilization, with opportunities to study abroad through the S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program at partner yeshivas and seminaries in Israel.
