YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood

Established in 1917, the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood (the Y) is Northern Manhattan’s premier Jewish community center, serving an ethnically and socio-economically diverse constituency. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for people of all ages through innovative programs and critical social services.

The Y offers a wide range of programs spanning early childhood education (including a nursery school), youth and teen programming, health and wellness classes, older adult services, and social services for families in need. It also runs Camp Twelve Trails, a day camp created in partnership with the JCC on the Hudson and the Riverdale YM-YWHA.

As a community anchor in Washington Heights and Inwood, the Y serves people of all backgrounds and fosters relationships across generational and ethnic lines, promoting diversity, inclusion, and social justice while connecting community members with critical services at every stage of life.
