Tea & Thinking: Searching for Truth
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Get a taste of Tea & Thinking, our monthly Thursday night interactive Machshava (thinking) series for young professionals at Anshey Sfard SF.
In this class on Searching for Truth, Eli Amsellem — investor at Ridge Ventures, Yeshiva University alum, raised in Great Neck with a strong Sephardic-traditional background, whose father served as the Hazzan and leader of the Persian community for over 25 years, and Young Professionals Committee member — shares insights on Jewish identity and feelings, explores the idea known in Yiddish as the “Pintele Yid” — the inner Jewish spark — what we feel at places like the Kotel (The Western Wall), and how Jewish identity can awaken even in people who may not feel religiously connected. He also reflects on why fighting antisemitism is not only about survival, but about creating the space for Jewish life to flourish: to become more fully ourselves as Jews.
Same schedule, same vibe, different Thursday of the month: Moroccan tea, cookies, meaningful conversation, and drinks after at a nearby bar.
